Jordan Caterers Design Event Planners of Cheshire & Darien announced that Jordan Rapoport, the founders’ son, will join its executive committee as its Director of Sales. Previously he served as a Business Development Associate with Lockwood Advisors, Inc., an affiliate of Pershing LLC, a BNY Mellon Company. Roughly 100 Jordan employ-ees gathered at a town hall meeting today at the company-owned restaurant, Whinstone Tavern in New Britain, CT where Jeffrey and Debra Rapoport, the firm’s founders, an-nounced that Jordan would join the family business.
Debra Rapoport said, “I can’t be more pleased that our son, Jordan, will be joining our team. I know that he will be as committed to the firm’s success as Jeff and I have been all of these years.” In September, Jordan announced that Connecticut celebrity chefs Kevin Cottle and Van Hurd would be joining the company. Jordan also recently re-ceived Connecticut Magazine’s “Best Caterer” designation for an 11th straight year.
Jeff Rapoport remarked, “With Kevin and Van guiding Culinary and Jordan managing Client Relationships, I believe that Jordan is positioned for future growth and success”. Cottle and Rapoport will join Libardo Casas, Director of Purchasing and Operations; Catherine Noome, Director of Hospitality; Deborah Grazier, Director of Design; Dee Jal-bert, Director of Finance; and Jeffrey and Debra Rapoport Joint Managing Directors on the company’s executive committee.
Jeffrey and Debra Rapoport began the family business as The Eaterie Delicatessen and Restaurant in 1979 in Cheshire’s Watch Factory Shoppes. In 1987 the company relo-cated and was rebranded as Jordan Caterers. Today Jordan operates out of headquar-ters in Cheshire and Darien and in addition to off premises catering, manages opera-tions at Whinstone Tavern, New Britain Museum of American Art, Guilford Yacht Club, New Haven Country Club and Artspace in New Haven.
